Supporting Your Library
How to get involved?
Volunteering
The Library Board recognizes volunteers as an invaluable community resource and welcomes their support.
• Qualified volunteers helping in the Library will supplement the efforts of, but not replace, paid staff.
• Volunteers will be recruited, trained, and supervised by designated staff, with the approval of the Director.
• Any person considering volunteer work must fill out an application. Individuals under the age of 18 must have parent/guardian signed permission to volunteer in the library.
• Volunteers will be informed of the need for confidentiality involving patron records. They will not check materials in or out to patrons.
Read the Volunteer Policy.
Friends of the Library
The Library Board recognizes “Friends of the Library” as an important group of civic-minded individuals who join together to support, improve, and promote Russell County Public Library. “Friends” work in a variety of ways, including programming, fundraising, and publicity, to help provide quality service and promote public awareness of library resources and programs.
