Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Russell County Public Library organized in 1993 to provide support for the library. They are registered as a 501(c)(3) organization. They operate primarily through committees at each branch; each branch committee elects officers which form the board of directors of the Friends of the Library. They support the library through fundraising and assistance in presenting programming. Friends traditionally provide the funding for the children and teen Summer Reading Program.
The Friends will also accept donations for the use in the library system.
The Friends’ meetings are noted on the library calendar and open to the public. New Friends are always welcome!
