The Library’s Collection
The library system holds over 50,000 materials in print, digital format, and downloadable, including books, music, VHS and DVD videos, and books on CD and cassette. There is also a local history collection, containing numerous historical and genealogical materials relating to Russell County and surrounding areas.
Community Spaces in the Library
There is a meeting room attached to the main library building in Lebanon and Honaker, available for reservation for non-profit purposes.
The library offers public computers with internet access, wireless internet access, inter-library loans, photocopiers, a fax machine, an Accucut and Ellison die machines, and lamination for small documents.
If you have detailed research and reference questions, any of the library staff will be happy to help you. In order to better serve you, you may be directed to speak with the staff member who can best assist with your particular needs.
RCPL offers a books-by-mail service for patrons who are unable to travel to the library. Monthly deliveries of library materials are made to participating adult care homes in the county.
Youth and Teen Services
The library offers story time for preschool children on Wednesdays from September to May, at 10:30 am in Lebanon and at 2 pm in Honaker. A Summer Reading Program is offered at both libraries during the summer months. The library also has a teen advisory board (TAB) which meets monthly to plan library activities for teens and sometimes sponsors programs for younger children as well.
